PROMOTION, RETENTION, AND PLACEMENT OF STUDENTS:

A student shall be promoted from one grade to the next on the basis of academic, social, and emotional development.  Exceptions may be made when, in the judgement of the professional staff, such exceptions are in the best educational interest of the student involved.  A decision to retain a student will be made only after prior notification and explanation to the student's parents.  The final decision will rest with school authorities.
